Opportunities for Singers

Adult Choir
(Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass)

The Adult Choir ministers to our faith community at various weekend masses.  In addition to congregational support, a variety of musical styles and difficulties are chosen to enhance the congregation’s worship experience.  All skill levels are welcome.  Attend rehearsals every Wednesday evening and sing at designated Sunday masses and at other major liturgical events from September to early June. Rehearsals are 7:00-8:30 pm and held once a week on Wednesday evenings from September to early June in the music room in the St. Wenceslaus church basement.
 

Resurrection Choir
The Resurrection Choir ministers at funeral masses. Funerals are during the day, usually in the morning or early afternoon. New singers are always welcome. There are no weekly rehearsals; this choir is on call.
 

Solo or Small Group Cantors
A cantor is an individual who leads the congregation in liturgical songs at mass.  Cantors are involved anywhere from once every two months to several times a month according to the individual’s or small group's needs/desires.  If you are interested in this ministry as a soloist or small group, please contact the Director of Liturgical Music for more information.
 

Opportunities for Instrumentalists:

Handbell Choir
Ringing Handbells is a wonderful way to become involved in the music ministries at St. Wenceslaus.  You don’t need to read notes as you will be taught what you need to know.  The Handbell Choir rings three octaves making each ringer responsible for two main bells.  We also have an additional four octaves of handchimes to increase the number of opportunities for people to be involved. Rehearsals are from 6:00-7:00 pm and traditionally held once a week on Wednesday evenings from September to early June in the music room in the St. Wenceslaus church basement. Ringers play at several masses and liturgical events from September to early June.
 
Guitar Ensemble
All levels of guitar players are welcome to join this ensemble, even if you haven’t picked up your guitar in years. Rehearsals will be held one hour prior to scheduled masses.
